Job summary

Reliance Human Resources Consultancy invites senior risk managers to join a Dubai-based commodities hedging team. You will develop and execute hedging strategies for non-ferrous metals, focusing on compliance with risk mandates and governance.

You will monitor LME exposures using futures, swaps, options, and OTC derivatives, analyse contango and backwardation, and coordinate with treasury, sales, procurement to align cash flows and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in commodity hedging and risk management.
• Knowledge of LME quoted periods and pricing structures.
• Proficiency with IFRS 9 hedge accounting.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute non-ferrous metals hedging strategies in line with approved risk mandates and governance frameworks.
• Monitor and hedge LME exposures using futures, swaps, options, and OTC derivatives.
• Manage LME Quotational Periods (QPs), provisional pricing, deferred QPs, unpriced contracts, tolerance exposures, and associated timing and spread risks.
• Analyse contango and backwardation structures and recommend appropriate price-fixation and hedging strategies.
• Execute unwind swaps to manage provisional and open pricing positions and align cash flows with supplier/customer invoices.
• Monitor hedge P&L and hedge efficiency at both transactional and portfolio levels.
• Manage margin utilisation, collateral, counterparty exposure, and hedge-related limits.
• Coordinate with brokers, banks, exchanges, OTC counterparties, Sales, Procurement, and Treasury.
• Support IFRS 9 hedge accounting, mark-to-market reporting, reconciliations, and financial control requirements.
• Strengthen front-office governance, operational controls, reporting dashboards, and exposure visibility.
• Support and enhance SAP CTRM integration, transaction capture, reconciliations, reporting, and process automation.
• Prepare management reports for the Hedging Steering Committee covering exposures, hedge positions, P&L, margins, provisional pricing, deferred QPs, tolerance exposures, and hedge effectiveness.
