Job description

As a Commissioning Electrical Supervisor (CES) you will be responsible for executing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities within the electrical discipline. All tasks must be performed in full compliance with project quality standards HSE (Health Safety and Environmental) regulations and established procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare detailed pre-commissioning and functional test procedures for electrical systems and packages under the guidance of the Commissioning Electrical Superintendent.
  • Conduct field inspections based on the DAC (Discipline Acceptance Criteria).
  • Prepare and maintain the electrical commissioning punch list as directed by the Commissioning Mechanical Electrical (CME).
  • Ensure that all electrical commissioning activities are carried out according to the project schedule and established safety and quality procedures.
  • Supervise the power-up and motor run of electrical substations and systems.
  • Enforce implementation of Tag-Out/Lock-Out systems and safety rules in case of emergency.
  • Lead and manage field operations of the subcontractors electrical team.
  • Ensure proper adherence to plant safety procedures and project-specific instructions.
  • Support vendor specialists during execution phases coordinating their tasks with other commissioning supervisors.
  • Oversee and optimize the performance of vendor personnel on site.
  • Monitor control interlocks logic sequences and verify operator actions in the Motor Control Center (MCC).
  • Execute starter operations in line with approved work permit processes.
  • Ensure all activities are witnessed and certified by the Client.
  • Prepare and sign-off relevant commissioning certificates and forward them to the Certification Engineer.
  • Act as the authorized person to issue or receive PTWs in accordance with project Permit to Work procedures.
  • Expedite the closure of outstanding punch list items in alignment with priorities set by the Commissioning Superintendent.
  • Maintain detailed daily records of all field activities and progress in the site logbook.
  • Report deviations and initiate corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical commissioning in oil & gas energy or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PTW systems LOTO procedures electrical systems MCC and field instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and international codes.
  • Proven ability to supervise multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with vendors.
  • Excellent communication reporting and documentation skills.
