Kitopi is seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team, specializing in International Cuisine. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in global flavors and cooking techniques, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.

You will assist senior chefs across multiple cuisines, prepare ingredients, follow recipes, maintain hygiene, rotate through kitchen sections to broaden your skills, and support in receiving deliveries.

Qualifications

• Culinary Arts certificate or diploma preferred.
• 2 years kitchen experience; fresh graduates welcome.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Eagerness to learn international cooking styles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs in preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes from various international cuisines.
• Prepare ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Follow recipes, portion control guidelines and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation per food safety standards.
• Store and label food items properly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
• Rotate through kitchen sections to develop multi-cuisine skills.
• Assist in receiving and checking deliveries for quality and quantity.
• Support in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of a wide variety of dishes from different international cuisines (e.g., Italian, Indian, Asian, Mediterranean, etc.)
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
• Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Store and label food items properly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
• Rotate through various kitchen sections to develop multi-cuisine skills.
• Assist in receiving and checking deliveries for quality and quantity.
• Support in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils.

Qualifications:

• Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts (preferred but not mandatory).
• 2 years of kitchen experience (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
