Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Ras Al Khaimah is seeking a Commis II to join our kitchen brigade, delivering tasteful dishes with care for presentation and flavour. You will work under the guidance of senior chefs in a luxury resort setting.

We offer a full uniform, room discounts, and extensive training to help you grow in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Candidates should be able to work nights, weekends and holidays and adapt to busy service periods.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and perform standing tasks.
• Basic reading, writing and maths skills.
• Willingness to work night, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Fluency in local language and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present meals with attention to presentation and flavour.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness and proper stock levels.
• Assist with washing up and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Adhere to local hygiene laws and safety standards.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

• Making every single meal a feast for the eyes and treat for the tastebuds
• Taking ownership for your workstation – keeping on top of supplies, equipment and waste
• Being cleaner than clean to meet or exceed local cleanliness and hygiene laws
• Helping with washing up and other kitchen duties where needed
• Taking on other ad-hoc duties like a true team player

What We need from you:

• The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
• A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths
• The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts
• Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
• Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
