Job summary

JA The Resort in Dubai is seeking a Commis I - Pastry to join our culinary team and help craft pastries and desserts to the highest standards. You will support the Pastry Chef, assist in mise en place, and ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

The ideal candidate holds a Culinary Diploma or 3-year Culinary Certification, an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification, and at least 1 year of experience in a luxury 5-star hotel or resort environment, with basic English communication.

Qualifications

• Culinary Diploma and Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification.
• Culinary Degree or 3-year Culinary Certification.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Commis I or II in a luxury 5-star hotel or resort.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and bakery items to the highest standards.
• Assist in daily mise en place and pastry production.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Support the Pastry Chef and senior team members in kitchen operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with proper storage of ingredients.
• Contribute fresh ideas and creativity to the pastry kitchen.
