About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commis I to join Jumeirah Saadiyat Island.

Responsibilities

• Document inventory of kitchen supplies and notify supervisors of low stock situations.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, baking ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; set cooking and baking temperatures properly.
• Perform food rotation tasks to ensure ingredient freshness.
• Set up station with par stocks of menu items and carry out all food preparation tasks given by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie designated for that station.
• Understand cooking temperatures, make soups and sauces, prepare entrees, vegetable preparation and a la carte cooking.
• Replenish service lines, restock, and prepare the workstation for the next shift.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in a range of kitchen areas; ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.
