Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Commercial/Contract Manager for a Ras Al Khaimah project. You will lead client engagement, review contractor claims, assess programme impacts, and manage post-contract commercial tasks within a dynamic team.

The role requires over 10 years in large residential/building projects in the UAE, with degree qualifications and MRICS/MCIARB preferred. Hybrid work options apply with a demanding 6-day work week.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent.
• Over 10 years’ relevant experience in large residential / buildings in the UAE.
• MRICS, MCIARB or equivalent accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagement on the project.
• Evaluate and manage contractor claims and contractual changes.
• Assess programmes, scope changes and their impact on extensions of time.
• Carry out post-contract commercial administration.
• Advise on contractual and commercial issues to the Employer.
• Brief the team on project scopes and monitor direct reports.
• Ensure timely cash collection in line with contract terms.
• Approve additional work/changes in scope with clients.
• Liaise directly with the Client project team.
• Review contracts and commercial reports.
• Assist in dispute resolution to avoid arbitration where possible.

Job Description

AECOM are looking for an experienced Commercial/Contract Manager to join a project based in Ras Al Khaimah.

Responsibilities

• Leading client engagement on the project.
• Evaluate claims submitted by the Contractor, which would include a review of noticesserved in accordance with the Contract and an evaluation of the commercial elementof the Contractor’s claim.
• The assessment of programme, scope of work change andits effect upon extension of time is expected to be undertaken by the professional team.
• Carrying out post contract commercial administration.
• Advise the professional team and the Employer on all Contractual and Commercialissues.
• Accountable for briefing the team on project scopes to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood. Monitors and manages the performance of direct reports.
• Responsible timely cash collection in compliance with contract terms.
• Responsible for ensuring that any additional work/changes in scope are approved by clients.
• Proven ability to be direct liaison with the Client project team.
• Reviews the contracts and commercial reports.
• Assist the Employer in the settlement of disputes or differences, which may arisebetween the employer and the Contractor, to attempt to resolve claims withoutresorting to arbitration or litigation.
• Represents the clients/AECOM in dispute resolutions/arbitration procedures.
• This role will be a 2-3 years full time and the working hours are 48 hours / 6 days a week.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Over 10 years’ relevant experience in large residential / buildings in the UAE.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying, Law and/or Engineering (or similar) from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or University. MRICS, MCIARB or equivalent accreditation preferred
