Job summary

Nova International General Contracting L.L.C in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Commercial Manager to support the Commercial Director across procurement, cost control, contracts & QS, and estimation. You will lead day-to-day commercial discipline, ensure process rigour, and align with project and corporate objectives.

The role demands 18–20 years in construction, main contractor exposure, and strong leadership. Knowledge of FIDIC/NEC UAE contracts is essential for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Master's or postgraduate in Commercial Management, Project Management, or Construction Law (preferred).
• MRICS or equivalent (CIOB, AIQS). PMP is advantageous.
• Main contractor experience required; Design & Build exposure advantageous.
• FIDIC/NEC/UAE standard contract familiarity.
• Experience: 18–20 years in construction (mandatory).
• Strong expertise in cost control, estimation, procurement, and planning.
• Solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cost plans, budgets, and CTC forecasts across all active projects.
• Review monthly cost reports and variance analyses before submission.
• Monitor cash flow projections; flag overrun risks and drive mitigation.
• Manage bid pipeline and review/validate tender estimates against market rates and margin targets.
• Coordinate preliminaries, methodology statements, and commercial schedules for submissions.
• Enforce procurement governance, pre‑award routing, and approval workflows.
• Lead commercial evaluation of bids — benchmarking, scoring, recommendation reports.
• Prepare and present consolidated commercial performance reports to management.

Job Description

Role Overview

Nova International Contracting is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Commercial Manager supporting the Commercial Director across four commercial pillars: Procurement, Cost Control, Contracts & QS, and Estimation. Acts as the division's day‑to‑day lead — ensuring rigour in process execution, system discipline, and cross‑team alignment with project and corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Financial Management

• Oversee cost plans, budgets, and CTC forecasts across all active projects.
• Review monthly cost reports and variance analyses before submission.
• Monitor cash flow projections; flag overrun risks and drive mitigation.

Estimation & Tendering

• Manage bid pipeline and review/validate tender estimates against market rates and margin targets.
• Ensure accurate pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and project requirements
• Coordinate Preliminaries, methodology statements, and commercial schedules for submissions.

Procurement Management

• Enforce procurement governance, pre‑award routing, and approval workflows.
• Lead commercial evaluation of bids — benchmarking, scoring, recommendation reports.
• Oversee RFQ/ITT/subcontract packages and monitor procurement timelines vs. programme.

Planning & Coordination

• Work closely with planning and project teams to ensure commercial alignment with project schedules
• Evaluate project progress and financial impact of delays or changes
• Support project planning through commercial insights

Contract Management

• Manage the full contract lifecycle — award through close‑out — for main contracts, subcontracts, and consultants.
• Oversee interim payment certificates, final accounts, variations, claims, and EOT submissions.
• Ensure commercial correspondence is tracked and actioned within contractual timeframes.

Governance & Reporting

• Prepare and present consolidated commercial performance reports to the management (weekly/monthly).
• Support ERP/digital transformation across the division.
• Develop and maintain commercial procedures and governance documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management. (Required)
• Master's or postgraduate in Commercial Management, Project Management, or Construction Law. (Preferred)
• MRICS or equivalent (CIOB, AIQS). (Strongly Preferred) | PMP. (Advantageous)
• Main contractor experience required. Design & Build exposure advantageous
• FIDIC/NEC/UAE standard contract familiarity required.
• Experience: 18–20 years in the construction industry (mandatory)
• Proven track record in a Commercial Manager or similar leadership role
• Strong expertise in:
