The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all commercial kitchen equipment, including ranges, ovens, grills, refrigeration units, exhaust systems, and plumbing fixtures. Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on all commercial kitchen equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues related to kitchen appliances and systems.
- Install, commission, and decommission kitchen equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls to minimize operational disruption.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts replacements, and service logs using digital or paper-based systems.
- Ensure all work complies with local health, safety, and environmental regulations, including food safety and fire prevention standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and operations managers to assess equipment needs and recommend upgrades or replacements.
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions to prevent hazards.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability.
- Support the implementation of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4–5 years of hands‑on experience in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical systems in commercial kitchens.
- In‑depth knowledge of commercial appliances including ovens, grills, fryers, refrigeration units, exhaust hoods, and dishwashers.
- Valid trade license or certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance (preferred).
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, fire prevention, and hygiene standards in food service environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance planning.
- Immediate availability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as required.
- Valid UAE work permit and ability to obtain a residence visa (support provided).
