Job summary

JobLeader in Abu Dhabi seeks a Librarian - Collections and Resources Manager to oversee library collections, cataloging, and electronic resources. You will manage budgets, supervise staff, and support patrons with research and access to materials.

The role requires experience in collections management, strong English communication, and knowledge of MARC21/AACR2 standards. Visa sponsorship is offered for selected candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Experience as librarian or in a collections management role.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Knowledge of MARC21 or AACR2 cataloging standards.
• Familiarity with electronic resources management systems (ERMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining the library's collection by selecting, purchasing, cataloging, and organizing materials.
• Evaluating the current collection to identify gaps or areas for improvement.
• Collaborating with other librarians to coordinate collection development policies.
• Managing the library's budget for acquisitions and subscriptions.
• Ensuring materials are cataloged and accessible through an organized system.
• Managing electronic resources such as databases, journals, and e-books.
• Assisting users in locating materials and conducting research.
• Providing guidance on copyright laws and ethical information use.
• Supervising support staff in daily tasks such as shelving and processing materials.
• Staying up-to-date on industry trends related to collections management.
