Job summary

NOV is seeking a QC Inspector to support the coating quality department by performing inspections and tests on coated components. The role involves close collaboration with production teams to maintain high quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with SOPs and industry specs.

Responsibilities include inspecting coated parts, measuring thickness and adhesion, documenting results, and assisting in root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Formal education in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• 2–3 years hands-on experience in manufacturing or coating environments.
• Proficiency with coating inspection tools and interpreting technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual, dimensional, and non-destructive inspections of coated parts according to SOPs.
• Measure and verify coating thickness, adhesion, and surface finish using calibrated equipment.
• Document inspection results, generate reports, and track non-conformances in the quality system.
• Assist in root-cause analysis and corrective-action implementation for defect trends.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, client specifications, and applicable industry codes.
• Maintain inspection tools and calibration records to guarantee measurement accuracy.
• Support production teams by providing real-time feedback on quality issues.
• Participate in internal and external audits, preparing required documentation.
• Promote a safety-first culture by identifying hazards related to coating processes.
• Continuously improve inspection procedures through critical thinking and best-practice research.
