Job summary

NOV is seeking a CNC Machinist with a Diploma in mechanical engineering or ITI and at least 5 years of experience to operate and program turning/machining centers. The role requires attention to tolerances, reading drawings, and ensuring quality per specifications in a safety-conscious environment.

You'll work on DMG MORI, Mazak, and Doosan machines, handle routine maintenance, and follow established SOPs to achieve production targets while maintaining a clean, safe workshop.

Qualifications

• Diploma in mechanical engineering or ITI with at least 5 years of experience.
• Experience operating DMG MORI, Mazak, and Doosan machines.
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and policies provided by NOV.
• Produce/machine threaded connections and parts per drawings and program.
• Inspect and verify that each thread and part matches the specification.
• Follow all guidelines provided by the Superintendent.
• Maintain a neat and clean working environment.
• Responsible for all company equipment care, use, and protection, and follow safety rules.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent.
• Perform job duties accurately and responsibly; verify part and work order.

Job description

• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments.
• Study First article parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to Machining products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
• Math Skills: Good math skills will help CNC machinists understand complex instructions, w schematics work, and ensure items are designed and built correctly.
• Problem-Solving Skills: - CNC machinists will need to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output, and how to fix errors.
• Attention to Detail: - CNC machinists will work with precision equipment. Being off by millimeters & Inches (Thousandth of an inch.) could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required.
• Mechanical and Technical Skills: - Machines controlled by computers will need operators who understand CAD/CAM technology.
• Stamina: - CNC machinists often work long hours doing repetitive movements.
• Conceptual Skills: - Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Tooling, Coordination, Attention to Detail, and Judgment.
