Job summary

EDGE is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate production machines (3-axis, 5-axis), lathes, milling and turning in Abu Dhabi. You will translate engineering drawings into precise production dimensions and oversee machines to ensure high-quality results.

The role requires minimum 3 years' experience, trade school accreditation, and the ability to maintain 5S, inspect finished parts, and perform in-process measurements. Preference for an engineering certificate or diploma.

Qualifications

• Trade School Accreditation or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a CNC Milling machine operator (Milling and Turning).
• Proven experience translating mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S under the area of responsibility.
• Certificate or diploma in Engineering is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (3-axis, 5-axis), lathes, milling and turning.

• Oversee machines and adjust processes to improve results.
• Load/unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record production and quality data in logs and SFCs.
• Perform routine maintenance and coolant monitoring.
• Inspect finished products for machining accuracy and conformance.
• Troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime.
• Document non-conformities and monitor scrap levels.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To set up and operate production Machines( 3- axis , 5 -axis), lathes, milling, turning and conventional lathes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling & turning.
• Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
• Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
• Load and unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record all machine related actions by completing production and quality logs, keeping detailed records for equipment and procedures.
• Perform necessary maintenance, Coolant Monitoring and cleaning of equipmentdaily.
• Inspect finished product to ensure that results of machining process align with clientexpectations.
• Perform general machine trouble shooting to minimize down time.
• Perform In- Process Measurement and Visual Inspection to ensure the quality of product meets customer requirements.
• Fill in all controlled required documents and SFC data entry including down time on daily basis.Monitor scrap levels against the parts produced under your responsibility and highlight if levels exceed average.
• Set up cutting tools as per Cutting tool list, using a heat shrink fit, dynamic tool balancer, to ensure tools are in line with the drawing requirement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
