Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced CNC Milling machine operator to set up and run 3- and 5-axis milling, turning and related tasks. You will translate drawings, manage machine operations, load materials, and maintain logs to ensure quality and on-time production.

The role requires minimum 3 years in CNC milling/turning, trade school qualification, and ability to maintain 5S housekeeping. Certification in engineering is a plus; EDGE offers competitive, tax-free packages and opportunities

• Proven experience translating mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S under the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
• Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make changes to produce improved results.
• Load and unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record all machine related actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Perform necessary maintenance, coolant monitoring and cleaning of equipment daily.
• Inspect finished product to ensure that results meet customer requirements.
• Perform in-process measurement and visual inspection to ensure quality.
• Fill in all controlled required documents and data entry including downtime daily.
• Monitor scrap levels against parts produced and highlight if levels exceed average.
• Set up cutting tools as per cutting tool list to ensure tools meet drawing requirements.

About The Role

To set up and operate production Machines( 3- axis , 5 -axis), lathes, milling, turning and conventional lathes.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling & turning.
• Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
• Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
• Load and unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record all machine related actions by completing production and quality logs, keeping detailed records for equipment and procedures.
• Perform necessary maintenance, Coolant Monitoring and cleaning of equipment daily.
• Inspect finished product to ensure that results of machining process align with client expectations.
• Perform general machine trouble shooting to minimize down time.
• Perform In- Process Measurement and Visual Inspection to ensure the quality of product meets customer requirements.
• Fill in all controlled required documents and SFC data entry including down time on daily basis.
• Monitor scrap levels against the parts produced under your responsibility and highlight if levels exceed average.
• Set up cutting tools as per Cutting tool list, using a heat shrink fit, dynamic tool balancer, to ensure tools are in line with the drawing requirement.

Basic Qualifications

• Trade School Accreditation or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a CNC Milling machine operator (Milling and Turning).
• Proven experience translating mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S under the area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in Engineering is an advantage.
