Job summary

Ehrhardt + Partner GmbH & Co. KG is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, operate, and continuously improve a scalable cloud platform supporting PaaS and SaaS solutions in Dubai.

The role focuses on highly available Linux-based cloud environments, automation, and modern tooling. You will deploy workloads across on‑premises and Microsoft Azure with Docker and Kubernetes, implement robust networking, and contribute to monitoring and storage optimization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or IT with relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on experience administering Linux-based cloud environments and designing highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in Docker and/or Kubernetes; experience deploying workloads in Azure and on-premises.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes networking and Azure networking, including troubleshooting cloud connectivity.
• Experience with Software Defined Storage, preferably Ceph, and modern cloud storage concepts.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management using Ansible or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring/observability tools such as CheckMK, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Experience designing and operating highly available cloud platforms and understanding cloud best practices.
• Fluent in English; German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate the EPG Cloud focusing on Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
• Administer, maintain and optimize highly available Linux-based cloud environments for performance and availability.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Ansible and orchestration technologies.
• Deploy and manage workloads across on-premises and Microsoft Azure using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes and Azure networking for secure cloud connectivity.
• Manage and optimize Software Defined Storage (Ceph) to support scalable infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana and CheckMK to identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with project and product teams to integrate solutions into the EPG Cloud and share knowledge across teams.
• Create documentation and contribute to training; stay updated with emerging cloud technologies.
• Develop cross-product cloud solutions and drive innovation.

As a Cloud Platform Engineer (m/f/d), you design, operate, and continuously enhance our cloud platform with a focus on highly available PaaS and SaaS solutions. You automate infrastructure, optimize system performance, and support the integration of innovative solutions into the EPG Cloud. With your expertise in Linux, cloud technologies, and automation, you contribute to a reliable, scalable, and future-ready cloud environment.

Your tasks will be as follows:

• You further develop and operate the EPG Cloud with a focus on Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
• You administer, maintain, and optimize highly available Linux-based cloud environments, ensuring maximum performance, capacity, and availability.
• You automate infrastructure and operational processes using tools such as Ansible and modern orchestration technologies.
• You deploy and manage workloads across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
• You configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes and Azure networking while ensuring secure and reliable connectivity across cloud environments.
• You manage and optimize Software Defined Storage (Ceph) to support scalable and resilient infrastructure.
• You implement and maintain monitoring solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CheckMK, proactively identifying and resolving system issues.
• You support project and product teams in integrating solutions into the EPG Cloud and contribute your expertise across interdisciplinary teams.
• You evaluate new hardware and software technologies, create technical documentation, and actively contribute to training and knowledge sharing within the organization.
• You continuously stay up to date with emerging cloud and infrastructure technologies and develop innovative cross-product solutions.

Your profile includes the following qualifications:

• You have completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, combined with relevant professional experience.
• You have hands-on experience administering and maintaining Linux-based cloud environments and designing highly available cloud infrastructure.
• You are proficient in Docker and/or Kubernetes (K8s) and have experience deploying and managing workloads in Microsoft Azure as well as on-premises environments.
• You have a solid understanding of Kubernetes networking and Azure networking and are comfortable troubleshooting and optimizing cloud connectivity.
• You have experience with Software Defined Storage, preferably Ceph, and understand modern cloud storage concepts.
• You are experienced in infrastructure automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible or comparable technologies.
• You have hands-on experience with monitoring and observability solutions such as CheckMK, Grafana, and Prometheus to ensure system performance, reliability, and availability.
• You have experience designing, implementing, and operating highly available cloud platforms, with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure best practices.
• You are a proactive, analytical team player with a structured and solution-oriented way of working and enjoy collaborating across interdisciplinary teams.
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of German is considered an advantage.
