Job summary

Confidential is building a digital-first, AI-enabled financial services organisation in the UAE. We seek a Cloud Foundation Engineer to help shape the Azure cloud platform from day one, including landing zones, governance, and automation. You will enable engineering teams to consume cloud services securely at scale.

The role focuses on cloud foundations, IaC with Terraform, and cost governance, in a regulated banking-like environment, with early-stage growth and strong institutional backing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on cloud or platform engineering in regulated environments.
• Strong Azure experience including landing zones, Azure Policy, Entra, and cloud networking.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and module development.
• Experience with GitOps delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and production cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Azure landing zones, tenancy architecture, and automated environment provisioning.
• Implement policy-as-code guardrails using Azure Policy and governance frameworks.
• Engineer cloud identity services using Entra and privileged access controls.
• Build and maintain cloud networking foundations including hub-and-spoke architectures and private endpoints.
• Develop and manage reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure automation capabilities.
• Implement FinOps tooling, cloud cost governance, monitoring, drift detection, and automated remediation.

As a Cloud Foundation Engineer, you'll play a key role in building the Azure cloud platform that powers the bank from day one. You'll work on cloud foundations, landing zones, identity, networking, governance, Infrastructure as Code, and automation, enabling engineering teams to safely and securely consume cloud services at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Azure landing zones, tenancy architecture, and automated environment provisioning capabilities.
• Implement policy-as-code guardrails using Azure Policy and cloud governance frameworks.
• Engineer cloud identity services using Microsoft Entra, managed identities, and privileged access controls.
• Build and maintain cloud networking foundations including hub-and-spoke architectures, private endpoints, and DNS services.
• Develop and manage reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure automation capabilities.
• Implement FinOps tooling, cloud cost governance, monitoring, drift detection, and automated remediation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on cloud or platform engineering experience, ideally within banking, fintech, or another regulated environment.
• Strong Azure experience including landing zones, Azure Policy, Microsoft Entra, and cloud networking.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including module development and automated testing.
• Experience with GitOps delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and production cloud environments.
• Exposure to FinOps, cloud cost management, drift remediation, and cloud governance practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and modern software delivery practices.
