Job summary

A healthcare provider in Dubai is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to assess clients and implement treatment plans. Responsibilities include offering therapy for mental health conditions, evaluating treatment outcomes, and providing clinical supervision. Candidates must have a Master's or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with relevant work experience, ideally in diverse cultural settings. Fluency in Arabic is a plus. Competitive salary offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience for doctorate and 5 years for master's, including 1 year with eating disorders.

Description

Assess your clients' needs, abilities, or behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews, and direct observation of their behavior.

Major responsibilities include
  • Plan, monitor and adapt appropriate treatment programmes and interventions, including therapy, counselling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues
  • Offer therapy and treatments for issues relating to a range of mental health conditions
  • Evaluate the efficacy and outcome of treatments
  • Provide consultation to other members of the multidisciplinary team, encouraging a psychological approach in their work
  • Counsel and support carers
  • Develop and evaluate service provision for clients
  • Carry out applied research, adding to the evidence base of practice in a variety of healthcare settings;
  • Provide clinical supervision to less experienced psychologists and members of the wider multidisciplinary team;
  • Provide psychology teaching and training to other members of the team.
Skills & competencies

Specific expertise in one or more of the follow areas is a plus:

  • Psycho-educational assesments;
  • Parenting;
  • Working with children under 12 years old;
  • Ability to provide client service in arabic is a plus (not required);
  • experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations;
  • Experience with clinical supervision.
Educations & qualifications
  • Master's or doctorate level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology
  • specialized training and a minimum of 3 years of work experience for doctorate and 5 years for master's level, including at least 1 year of experience in working with people with eating disorders.
  • Qualifications from UK/USA/Western Europe/Australia/South Africa is preferred.
