Job summary

Amana Healthcare is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Lead / Senior Registered Nurse in mental health to provide advanced nursing care in an inpatient or community setting and lead a care team.

The role requires a DOH license or eligibility, a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and a minimum of five years in mental health, with at least three years in leadership. You will work within DOH guidelines to maintain high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• DOH license holder or eligibility letter is required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in mental health or psychiatric care setting.
• Minimum 3 years in a team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based nursing care to mental health patients, including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes.
• Supervise, mentor, and lead nursing staff and healthcare aides to ensure safe, effective practice.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other professionals for holistic care.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, scope of practice, policies and governance.
• Conduct mental health risk assessments, manage crises, and ensure timely escalation and interventions.
• Maintain confidential clinical documentation per legal and organizational standards.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development.

The Clinical Nurse Lead / Senior Registered Nurse - Mental Health provides advanced clinical nursing care and professional leadership within an inpatient or community mental health setting, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and patient‑centred care in line with Department of Health (DOH) standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based nursing care to mental health patients, including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes.
• Support and guide nursing staff and healthcare aides through supervision, mentoring, and day‑to‑day clinical leadership to ensure safe and effective practice.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated and holistic mental health services.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, scope of practice, organizational policies, and clinical governance requirements at all times.
• Conduct mental health risk assessments, manage patients in crisis situations, and ensure timely escalation and appropriate interventions.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and service development activities to enhance mental health care delivery.
