Job summary

Pelago is seeking a licensed clinical professional with 3+ years of experience in substance use treatment to serve as the first clinical contact for members, conduct screenings and intake assessments, and guide care transitions.

You will apply CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and relapse prevention, document interactions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize member care.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical experience treating substance use disorders.
• Proficiency in CBT, MI, and relapse prevention techniques.
• Active and unrestricted state credential issued via a credentialing board.
• Credentialing recognized by IC&RC or NAADAC (e.g., AADC, CAADC, LADC, LCSW with SUD scope).
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first clinical point of contact for members, conducting initial screenings and intake assessments.
• Evaluate behavioral health history, substance use, symptoms, and member goals.
• Communicate treatment options and guide members toward the most appropriate level of care.
• Facilitate warm transitions by connecting members with assigned counselors or coaches.
• Maintain a small ongoing caseload providing individual counseling and monitoring progress.
• Provide temporary member coverage during clinician leave or staffing transitions.
• Utilize evidence-based approaches including CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and harm reduction.
• Document member interactions thoroughly and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize member experience.
