Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Proven experience as a Civil Engineer.
Knowledge of relevant legal regulations and safety standards.
Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD).
Excellent problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Responsibilities

Conduct research on materials used in construction projects and create designs based on those materials.
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and other topographical data.
Design structures like bridges or buildings that can withstand natural elements such as wind or water.
Utilise computer-aided design (CAD) software to create designs.
Test construction materials to ensure they meet relevant standards.
Supervise the construction process including laborers and subcontractors.
Monitor progress of construction projects according to schedule.
Problem solve any issues that may arise during the project timeline.
