Job summary

WAHA AIR in Dubai is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chiller Installation and Service Technician to lead installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of chiller systems in commercial and industrial facilities.

You will independently manage projects from installation through handover, work with VRF and multiple chiller brands, and ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability of cooling systems in demanding environments. UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years proven experience with VRF and Chiller systems.
• Experience with Carrier, Midea, York, Trane or similar brands is preferred.
• Strong commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair skills for VRF and chillers.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control faults.
• Fluent understanding of HVAC electrical wiring, control circuits, refrigerant cycles, and BMS interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, startup, service, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
• Read and interpret controller alarms, fault histories, operating parameters, trend logs, and diagnostics.
• Program and operate chiller control panels, HMI interfaces, PLC-based controls, and BMS integration.
• Perform compressor replacement, oil charging, and commissioning after replacement.
• Contribute to preventive and corrective maintenance and emergency repairs.

Job description

WAHA AIR is looking for a highly experienced Senior Chiller Installation and Service Technician to join our growing HVAC team in Dubai. We are seeking professionals with extensive field experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of Chiller systems. The ideal candidate must be capable of independently managing projects from installation through commissioning, diagnostics, repair, and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, testing, commissioning, startup, servicing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Chillers.
• Strong knowledge of screw, scroll, centrifugal, and reciprocating chiller systems.
• Complete understanding of chilled water systems, condenser water systems, pumps, expansion tanks, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, valves, strainers, and related equipment.
• Operation and programming of chiller control panels, HMI interfaces, PLC-based control systems, and BMS integration.
• Reading and interpreting controller alarms, fault histories, operating parameters, trend logs, and diagnostic information.
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control-related faults.
• Compressor replacement, compressor alignment, oil charging, and commissioning after replacement.
• Compressor oil replacement and oil analysis.
• Replacement of condenser fans, evaporator fans, EC fans, motors, bearings, pulleys, belts, and vibration isolators.
• Replacement of expansion valves, solenoid valves, pressure switches, sensors, transducers, contactors, relays, VFDs, and electrical components.
• Heat exchanger inspection and cleaning (evaporator and condenser).
• Tube cleaning and condenser coil cleaning.
• Refrigerant recovery, leak detection, evacuation, charging, and refrigerant replacement.
• Water flushing, chemical cleaning, and chilled water balancing.
• Pump troubleshooting and replacement.
• Cooling tower inspection and maintenance (where applicable).
• Calibration of pressure sensors, temperature sensors, flow switches, and safety devices.
• Functional testing of all protection and safety controls.
• Performance testing and optimization to achieve design efficiency.
• Complete preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and emergency breakdown repairs.
• Root cause analysis and permanent fault rectification.
• Preparation of service reports and technical documentation.

Preference will be given to Indian applicants.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5–10 years of proven experience in VRF and Chiller systems.
• Extensive experience with the following HVAC brands:
  • Carrier
  • Midea
  • York
  • Trane
• Strong experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of both VRF and Chiller systems.
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system failures.
• Strong understanding of HVAC electrical wiring, control circuits, refrigerant cycles, chilled water systems, and BMS interfaces.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and manufacturer manuals.
• Experience with commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, factories, malls, data centers, and industrial facilities.
• UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
• Valid UAE Driving License is an advantage.
