Job summary

Al-Futtaim Group is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead the independent risk management function for a CBUAE-regulated finance company. The CRO will oversee enterprise-wide risk across credit, operational, outsourcing, technology, and regulatory domains.

The role requires 12–15 years in risk within financial services, with senior experience in regulated lending or banking, plus hands-on oversight of risk policy, capital and IFRS9/ECL. Strong leadership and board liaison skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12-15 years in risk management within financial services.
• Senior experience in a regulated lending, finance or banking environment.
• Hands-on experience managing Credit policy, Risk appetite, Underwriting frameworks, Portfolio monitoring, Collections oversight, IFRS9/ECL, Concentration risk & Write-offs and restructurings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AFF’s enterprise risk framework and risk appetite.
• Provide independent risk opinions to the Board and senior management.
• Oversee credit risk monitoring, exposures, restructurings and portfolio quality.
• Monitor delinquency trends, provisioning indicators and risk appetite breaches.
• Oversee operational, outsourcing, technology and information security risks.
• Review and challenge first-line controls and escalate material weaknesses.
• Support CBUAE examinations, regulatory reviews and remediation plans.
• Provide independent input on policies, outsourcing, new products and strategic initiatives.
• Lead the Risk function and foster strong risk culture across governance forums.
