Job summary

Premier Marine seeks an experienced Chief Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) to lead our engineering and maintenance operations across ports, terminals, and fleet assets. You will oversee mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems to ensure reliability, safety, and performance in a maritime environment.

You will manage budgets, resources, and spare parts, drive preventive and predictive maintenance, and coordinate with operations, safety, and procurement teams to optimize workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Marine Engineering
• Experience in engineering, maintenance, or operations in ports/maritime/heavy industries
• Proven experience in managing teams, maintenance planning, and technical operations
• Strong knowledge of marine equipment, port machinery, and electromechanical systems
• Safety regulations, maritime compliance, and international standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance teams across mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of port infrastructure, machinery, vessels, and terminal equipment (e.g., cranes, conveyors, forklifts).
• Ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs are implemented and followed effectively.
• Plan and execute technical projects, upgrades, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Monitor engineering KPIs, asset performance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Develop and manage engineering budgets, resources, and spare parts inventory efficiently.
• Coordinate with operations, safety, and procurement teams to ensure smooth workflow and equipment availability.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and emergency operations.
• Stay updated on latest engineering technologies and recommend innovations to improve efficiency and sustainability.

• Proven experience in managing teams, maintenance planning, and technical operations.
