Job summary

Rebel Recruiters is seeking a Head of Battery & Energy Storage for a greenfield aerospace programme in Dubai. The role leads the battery engineering team, defines the development plan, and ensures design decisions support safety, performance, and certification objectives.

You will own the delivery plan, schedule, cost, and supplier performance while remaining hands-on as the pack architect in early phases, delivering battery hardware through qualification and testing to production readiness.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in battery, energy storage or power systems engineering.
• 5+ years in airborne or safety-critical applications.
• Proven track record delivering battery hardware through full test campaigns.
• Experience establishing or expanding battery test capability and safety controls.
• Strong hands-on battery pack architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Battery & Energy Storage engineering team and recruit engineers.
• Own the battery development plan, schedule, estimates, resources and cost.
• Develop cell characterisation, abuse, propagation and high voltage test capability.
• Establish facilities, equipment, procedures and safety controls for qualification.
• Act as battery pack architect during early programme phase and support pack sizing.
