Job description
Role Purpose

Own the integrity of the company’s financial records and reporting under IFRS, lead the month-end close and statutory filings, strengthen internal controls, and provide decision‑ready financial insights.

The Chief Accountant/Finance manager manages the GL, coordinates AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Payroll accounting, Tax/VAT, and acts as the primary liaison for external and internal audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Close
    • Lead quarterly and monthly close; ensure accurate, timely financial statements under IFRS.
    • Review journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions, intercompany and consolidation adjustments.
    • Maintain the chart of accounts and accounting policies; drive continuous close improvement (reduce day‑to‑close).
  • General Ledger & Controls
    • Ensure end‑to‑end GL integrity; implement and monitor internal controls aligned to COSO principles.
    • Own the balance‑sheet review process; remediate aged items and control gaps promptly.
    • Govern master data and approval workflows within the ERP Oracle Fusion.
  • Accounts Payable / Receivable
    • Oversee AP/AR accounting; validate vendor/customer reconciliations, aging, write‑offs, and credit notes.
  • Fixed Assets & Inventory
    • Supervise capitalization, depreciation, impairment testing, disposals; ensure proper tagging and physical verification.
    • Align inventory valuation (e.g., FIFO/Weighted Avg), costing, and shrinkage controls with Operations/Supply Chain.
  • Tax, VAT & Compliance (GCC as applicable)
    • Ensure accurate, timely VAT returns and withholding/Corporate Tax filings; maintain supporting documentation.
    • Monitor regulatory changes; coordinate with tax advisors as required.
  • Audit & Governance
    • Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors; deliver PBC lists and resolve queries.
    • Coordinate internal audits; implement corrective action plans and track closure.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
    • Support annual budget and rolling forecasts; provide variance analysis and commentary to management.
    • Develop dashboards and KPIs that translate accounting results into business insight.
  • Systems & Process Excellence
    • Act as Finance process owner in the ERP (P2P, O2C, R2R); lead UAT, enhancements, and control configurations.
    • Document SOPs; drive automation (e.g., closing checklists, reconciliation tools, RPA opportunities).
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Supervise and mentor accountants; build a high‑performance culture and succession pipeline.
    • Partner cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, HR/Payroll, Legal, and IT to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA/ACCA/CA (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Standards: Strong working knowledge of IFRS (and local GAAP where applicable).
  • Systems: Proficiency with an ERP Oracle Fusion, advanced Excel.
