Job summary

Tanqeeb invites applications for a Chemistry teacher to deliver high-quality instruction under the MOE curriculum in Dubai. The role focuses on developing scientific knowledge, laboratory skills, and MOE exam readiness across relevant grade levels.

The candidate will plan lessons, supervise safe lab sessions, and assess student progress while collaborating with the Science Department and ensuring KHDA/MOE compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field; Education qualification/PGCE is an advantage.
• 2–3 years of Chemistry teaching experience, preferably MOE curriculum.
• Valid UAE Teacher's Licence or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong knowledge of MOE Chemistry syllabus and lab requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Chemistry lessons aligned with MOE curriculum and standards.
• Design and supervise safe, well-structured laboratory sessions following health and safety protocols.
• Prepare students for MOE exams and standardized assessments.
• Develop and mark formative and summative assessments; analyze results for planning.
• Maintain records of attainment, attendance and behaviour; report to parents and leadership.
• Differentiate instruction for varying abilities, including gifted learners.
• Maintain the Chemistry laboratory, equipment and inventory per H&S policy.
• Collaborate with Science Department on curriculum mapping and dept plans.
• Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, science fairs and events.
• Ensure KHDA/MOE compliance in curriculum delivery, safeguarding and assessment.

Job description

Job Purpose: To deliver high-quality Chemistry instruction across the relevant grade levels in accordance with the MOE curriculum, developing students' scientific knowledge, laboratory skills and preparation for MOE assessments and examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Chemistry lessons in line with the MOE curriculum framework, scope and sequence, and assessment standards.
• Design and supervise safe, well-structured practical laboratory sessions, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
• Prepare students for MOE examinations and any relevant standardized assessments, including targeted revision and exam-technique support.
• Develop and mark formative and summative assessments; analyze results to inform planning and intervention.
• Maintain accurate records of student attainment, attendance and behaviour, and report on progress to parents and school leadership.
• Differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities, including gifted/talented students and those requiring additional support.
• Maintain the Chemistry laboratory, equipment and chemical inventory in a safe and organized condition, in line with school H&S policy.
• Collaborate with the Science Department on curriculum mapping, common assessments, moderation and department action plans.
• Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, science fairs/competitions and other school events.
• Ensure compliance with KHDA and MOE regulations relating to curriculum delivery, safeguarding and assessment.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a closely related field (Education qualification/PGCE an advantage).
• Minimum 2–3 years' teaching experience in Chemistry, preferably within an MOE curriculum school.
• Valid UAE Teacher's Licence or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong subject knowledge across the MOE Chemistry syllabus and familiarity with practical/laboratory requirements.
