Job summary

Kodiak Solutions is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to review ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for multiple clients and validate DRG assignments. You will analyze physician documentation for specificity and identify opportunities to improve accuracy while adhering to CMS, OIG, and AHA standards.

Strong collaboration with client teams is essential. The role requires CCS certification, 5+ years of IP coding experience, and proficiency with EHR systems such as Cerner, EPIC, and Meditech.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of inpatient coding IP Claims experience.
• CCS credential required.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid DRGs and DRG Validator.
• Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS knowledge and hospital revenue cycle expertise.
• Proficiency with EHR systems like Cerner, EPIC, Meditech.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient coding (ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS) for multiple clients to ensure accuracy.
• Validate codes, diagnoses, and assignment appropriateness.
• Review physician documentation for specificity and identify query opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of CMS, OIG, AHA, and Coding Clinics standards.
• Meet productivity and quality expectations within the department.
• Consult with client organizations and collaborate with service line teams to develop growth strategies.
