Role Summary
The Cashier Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day cash transactions, employee reimbursements, and payroll disbursement processes in alignment with company finance policies and internal controls. The role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of all cash, bank, and payroll-related activities, supporting the Finance Department’s objective of maintaining transparent, auditable, and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cash & Bank Management
- Handle daily cash collections and payments, ensuring all transactions are properly authorized and supported by documentation.
- Maintain the company’s petty cash fund, ensure reconciliations are performed daily/weekly, and prepare replenishment requests with proper supporting vouchers.
- Record and post all cash and bank transactions in the accounting system accurately and promptly.
- Coordinate with banks for deposits, withdrawals, cheque collections, and fund transfers as per internal controls and DOA (Delegation of Authority).
- Ensure safe custody of cash, cheques, and other financial instruments.
- Prepare daily cash position reports and maintain accurate logs for audit reference.
2. Payroll Administration
- Support end-to-end payroll processing in collaboration with HR and Finance teams, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Review and verify attendance, overtime, deductions, and allowances for inclusion in the payroll cycle.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll summaries and ensure salary payments are executed within approved timelines.
- Handle salary disbursements via WPS/bank transfers and generate respective remittance confirmations.
- Manage staff advances, loan recoveries, and end-of-service settlements ensuring correct accounting treatment.
- Reconcile monthly payroll expense postings in the general ledger with HR reports.
3. Reimbursements & Claims
- Process employee expense claims, travel advances, and supplier petty payments as per company policy.
- Verify completeness and compliance of reimbursement documents (approvals, receipts, invoices, etc.).
- Ensure all reimbursements are correctly recorded and cross-checked against department budgets.
4. Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure supporting documentation is filed and retrievable.
- Assist in monthly closing activities by preparing cash, bank, and payroll reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, vouchers, and relevant documents.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance automation, accuracy, and control efficiency.
5. Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure all financial transactions adhere to Camelicious’ accounting standards, HR & Finance SOPs, and DOA.
- Liaise with HR for salary-related issues, Finance for budgeting and expense controls, and auditors for payroll and cash verification.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and employee information.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (mandatory).
- Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in a cashier or accountant role within a manufacturing or FMCG company.
- Proven payroll processing experience (WPS handling, reconciliation, payroll reports).
- Strong knowledge of ERP or HRMS systems (experience with Zeta Software, Tally, or SAP is an advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, reconciliation reports, data validation).
- Understanding of UAE Labour Law and WPS regulations.
- Fluency in English; Arabic/Hindi/Urdu is an advantage.
