Job Description

The role of a Carpenter involves constructing, repairing, and installing structures, and fixtures in our IFZA offices. The ideal candidate will be skilled in using hand and power tools, reading and interpreting blueprints, and working with a variety of materials. They should also be able to work efficiently and safely; and be able to communicate effectively with team members and client.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.
  • Build and install structures and fixtures such as walls, partitions, stages, platforms, cabinetry, doors, and custom furniture.
  • Carry out fit‑out and finishing work for private events, corporate functions, and luxury spaces according to design requirements.
  • Ensure work is completed to high‑quality standards, on time, and within project budgets.
  • Follow all site safety regulations and company protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Lead or guide junior carpenters or helpers when needed, ensuring best practices are followed on‑site.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area during all phases of construction and setup.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the management team.
Requirements
  • Vocational certificate or trade diploma in Carpentry, Construction, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum basic English communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of fit‑out works, exhibition setups, custom builds, and material handling.
  • Proficient with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • Excellent attention to detail, finishing skills, and a high standard of craftsmanship.
  • Strong understanding of UAE safety regulations and ability to maintain safe work practices.
  • Good problem‑solving skills with the ability to supervise junior carpenters and work under pressure.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional carpentry experience.
  • Hands‑on experience in fit‑out projects, including luxury interiors, events, and temporary installations.
  • Familiarity with custom fabrication, joinery, and on‑site carpentry for both private and corporate clients.
  • Proven ability to lead small teams, coordinate with project managers and execute tasks independently.
  • Past experience working in the UAE or GCC region is highly desirable.
  • Experience in managing tools, materials, and timelines to meet tight project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle repair, maintenance, and modifications on existing structures or event setups.
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments, including weekends.
