The role involves comprehensive management of cardiovascular/cardiothoracic conditions, with collaboration across a multidisciplinary team and access to modern facilities and advanced surgical technology.

Qualifications

• MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, or an equivalent specialty.
• Significant post-details experience in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery.
• Proven experience performing cardiovascular surgical procedures independently.
• UK CCT / FRCS, American Board, Australian Board / FRACS, South African specialist qualifications, or equivalent internationally recognised credentials are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic conditions.
• Perform cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures appropriate to the candidate's expertise.
• Manage pre-operative assessments and post-operative patient care.
• Perform procedures involving coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic conditions, and other cardiovascular disorders.
• Participate in emergency and elective surgical services.
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, anesthetists, intensivists, radiologists, and other specialists.
• Provide comprehensive follow-up and long‑term patient management.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement programs.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical governance, and evidence‑based practice.
