Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Cardiothoracic Surgery / Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
• Specialist or Consultant-level experience in CT surgery.
• UK CCT, Western qualifications, American/Australian/German Boards encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and surgically manage patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions.
• Perform a broad range of cardiothoracic procedures, including open and minimally invasive surgeries where appropriate.
• Manage patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, thoracic conditions and other complex cardiothoracic disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
• Provide post-operative management and monitor patients for potential complications.
• Manage emergency and high-risk cardiothoracic surgical cases.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac anesthetists, intensivists, radiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical decision-making.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow patient-safety and governance standards.
• Contribute to teaching, mentoring, clinical audits, quality improvement and continuing medical education.
