Job summary

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF) is seeking an experienced Polisher for our Abu Dhabi Bodyshop. The ideal candidate will polish vehicle surfaces after painting, operate polishing machines safely, and apply polishing compounds to achieve a flawless finish.

We require at least 3 years of professional polishing experience, a high school diploma, and strong knowledge of finishing techniques. You will work closely with the Bodyshop team to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional car polishing experience, preferably within a Bodyshop environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education is required.
• Strong knowledge of automotive polishing and finishing techniques.
• Ability to operate polishing machines and related equipment.
• Knowledge of polishing compounds, buffs, pads, and detailing materials.

Responsibilities

• Polish vehicle surfaces after painting to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
• Operate polishing machines and equipment safely and effectively.
• Apply polishing compounds using appropriate apparatus.
• Remove scratches, swirl marks, paint imperfections, and other surface defects.
• Inspect polished surfaces to ensure consistency and professional finish.
• Select and use compounds, pads, and materials based on surface and repair needs.
• Replace worn buffs and components using appropriate tools.
• Maintain polishing equipment and tools in safe, clean condition.
• Handle vehicles carefully to prevent paint damage during polishing.
• Follow SOPs, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Polish vehicle surfaces after painting to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
• Operate polishing machines and equipment safely and effectively.
• Apply polishing compounds to vehicle surfaces using the appropriate polishing apparatus.
• Remove scratches, swirl marks, paint imperfections, and other surface defects.
• Inspect polished surfaces to ensure a consistent and professional finish.
• Select and use appropriate polishing compounds, pads, and materials based on the vehicle surface and repair requirements.
• Replace worn polishing buffs and related components using appropriate tools.
• Ensure polishing equipment and tools are properly maintained and stored.
• Handle vehicles carefully to prevent damage during the polishing process.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area.
• Follow Bodyshop procedures, company SOPs, and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain company assets and equipment responsibly.
• Work closely with the Polishing Foreman and Bodyshop team to complete assigned jobs efficiently.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Polishing Foreman or Bodyshop Manager.

• Deliver a high-quality, smooth, and professional vehicle finish.
• Ensure scratches, defects, and polishing imperfections are properly removed.
• Complete polishing work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Use polishing equipment, compounds, and tools correctly and safely.
• Prevent damage to vehicle paintwork, trims, and other components.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and operational condition.
• Follow all company quality, SOP, and health and safety requirements.

What Were Looking For

Experience

Minimum 3 years of professional car polishing experience is required, preferably within an automotive Bodyshop environment.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent education is required.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of automotive polishing and finishing techniques.
• Experience removing scratches, paint defects, swirl marks, and surface imperfections.
• Ability to operate polishing machines and related equipment.
• Knowledge of polishing compounds, buffs, pads, and other detailing materials.
• Ability to identify surface defects and determine the appropriate polishing method.
• Good understanding of vehicle paintwork and finishing requirements.

Tools & Equipment

• Comfortable operating polishing machines and related Bodyshop equipment.
• Ability to safely replace worn buffs and other polishing components using appropriate tools.

Languages

Basic English communication skills are required.
