Role Overview

We are seeking a creative and passionate Calligraphy / Artistic Handwriting Tutor to help learners develop beautiful handwriting, artistic lettering, and creative expression through traditional and modern calligraphy techniques. You will work with children, teenagers, and adults, providing personalised instruction that builds fine motor skills, creativity, precision, patience, and confidence while introducing a variety of lettering styles and artistic practices.

Key Responsibilities

Assess learners' handwriting skills, artistic interests, and learning goals

Deliver personalised calligraphy and artistic handwriting lessons

Teach foundational pen control, lettering techniques, spacing, stroke consistency, and composition

Introduce modern calligraphy, brush lettering, copperplate, italic, and decorative writing styles where appropriate

Develop learners' creativity through practical projects and artistic exercises

Recommend appropriate writing tools, pens, inks, brushes, and paper

Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

Encourage creativity while maintaining technical accuracy and good handwriting habits

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Education, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

Minimum 2 years' experience teaching calligraphy, lettering, or artistic handwriting

Demonstrated portfolio of calligraphy or lettering work

Preferred Qualifications

Professional calligraphy certification

Experience teaching children and adults

Experience with both traditional and digital calligraphy

Background in art education or creative workshops

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.
