Job summary

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is seeking a senior economist to conduct high quality economic and business research for members, supporting policy development and Dubai’s position as a global business hub.

The role involves designing research frameworks, performing quantitative and qualitative analyses, and translating findings into actionable insights for senior management and stakeholders, with a focus on macroeconomic indicators and market trends.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor in Economics, Business studies, International Trade, Finance and/or related fields (or PhD).
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in economic research, business analysis or consulting.
• Strong command of English and Arabic (reading, spoken, and written).
• Experience with large datasets and statistical tools; familiarity with econometric methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

To conduct high quality economic and business research that is relevant to Dubai Chambers members with the view of supporting Dubai Chamber to create a favorable business environment support business intelligent initiatives and policy development and promote Dubai as a global business hub

Key Accountabilities

• Support the design of research frameworks, surveys and analytical models
• Conduct economic, sectoral and market research using quantitative and qualitative methods
• Analyze trade, investment and business data to identify trends and opportunities
• Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic planning and policy
• Translate complex economic findings into clear, business‑friendly insights and present them to senior management and stakeholders
• Contribute to forecasting, scenario analysis and economic outlook studies

Qualifications & Experience

• amp Experience Minimum Qualification Master degree or Bachelor s degree in Economics, Business studies, International Trade, Finance and/or related fields (or PhD degree)
• Minimum Experience and Skills Minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in economic research, business analysis, or consulting
• Knowledge and understanding of the Chamber s services
• Strong understanding of macroeconomic and business indicators
• Experience working with large datasets and statistical tools
• Previous experience of managing research projects
• Familiarity with trade, investment, or sector analysis is an advantage
• High command of English, and Arabic (Reading, Spoken, and Written)
• Technical skills: Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Power BI, R, STATA or similar analytical software; strong research and report‑writing skills; knowledge of statistical and econometric methods is a plus
