The Business Development Manager – IOR/EOR will be responsible for expanding the company’s global business in trade compliance and international logistics, with a primary focus on Importer of Record (IOR), Exporter of Record (EOR), customs clearance, and technology deployment logistics. This role plays a key part in supporting global technology companies—especially those in the IT, telecom, and data-center sectors to move and deploy equipment across international borders efficiently and lawfully. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring new clients, developing strategic partnerships, preparing commercial proposals, managing RFQs and tenders, and ensuring seamless onboarding and project execution. Close collaboration with the operations, compliance, finance, and marketing teams is essential to deliver end-to-end logistics and compliance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and secure new business for IOR/EOR and global logistics services.
- Develop proposals tailored to client requirements and business needs.
- Build and maintain a strong lead pipeline through research, networking, LinkedIn outreach, and industry events.
- Conduct client meetings and present the company’s global service capabilities.
- Manage tender submissions and RFQ documentation with accuracy and compliance.
Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
- Conduct market research to identify new sectors and international regions for expansion.
- Monitor competitors, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
- Recommend opportunities for service development and new market entry.
- Support leadership in defining business development targets and growth plans.
Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with clients, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and service quality.
- Serve as the main point of contact between clients and internal teams.
- Support client onboarding, ensuring SOPs and compliance requirements are clearly communicated.
- Resolve client issues promptly and professionally.
Proposal, Pricing & Contract Oversight
- Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and pricing models in coordination with operations and finance.
- Ensure pricing is accurate, competitive, and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Negotiate terms and service levels while maintaining profitability.
- Ensure smooth handover of new clients to operations.
Compliance & Operational Coordination
- Understand global import/export regulations, HS codes, certifications, and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with compliance teams to meet country-specific regulations.
- Support operations in project execution, customs procedures, and shipment coordination.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely and compliant service delivery.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Maintain accurate CRM records and track all sales activities.
- Provide weekly and monthly sales progress reports.
- Share market insights and client feedback to support service improvement and marketing initiatives.
Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years of business development experience in IOR/EOR services, freight forwarding, international logistics, or telecom/IT deployment logistics.
- Good understanding of global trade compliance, import/export documentation, HS codes, product certifications, and customs processes.
- Experience preparing commercial proposals, quotations, and presentations.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in commercial and compliance related work.
- Ability to identify business opportunities and convert leads into contracts.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM systems.
