Job summary

SO/ Uptown Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic Barista to join our stylish café team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You will craft high-quality beverages, deliver friendly service, and contribute to a premium guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Coffee Shop Supervisor, you will handle orders, maintain equipment, follow UAE health and safety guidelines, and expand your coffee knowledge through ongoing training and practice within a luxury hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.
• Retail or F&B experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of espresso machines and coffee equipment.
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification as required by UAE regulations.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional, friendly service to customers, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Prepare and serve espresso, cappuccino, latte, cold brews, and teas following recipes.

• Consistently deliver professional, friendly, and engaging service to all customers, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits
• Prepare and sell specialty coffee drinks and beverages by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, cold brews, and specialty teas
• Handle end-to-end customer orders with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring each beverage meets our quality standards
• Answer customer questions and present various beverage offerings with enthusiasm, providing personalized recommendations based on individual preferences
• Maintain inventory by replenishing coffee bean supplies, stocking brewing equipment, and ensuring adequate stock of supplies and baked goods
• Operate and maintain coffee equipment by following operational instructions, troubleshooting minor issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs when necessary
