Job summary

Salt is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our enterprise technology team in Abu Dhabi. You will design and build core backend services, workflow engines, and complex approval processes to power next-generation enterprise products.

You will work on secure, scalable backends, human approvals, and deterministic decision logic, collaborating with AI, integration, and product teams to deliver production-ready systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on development experience in Python or Go (preferred). Java, C#, or Node.js/TypeScript also considered.
• Proven experience building and maintaining production APIs and backend services.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL and data modelling.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of authentication, authorisation and enterprise security.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Ability to demonstrate recent, production-level coding experience.
