We are looking for a skilled Backend Application Development Associate to join our remote engineering team and develop reliable, scalable, and secure backend systems for web, mobile, SaaS, and AI-powered applications.

About the Role

The role focuses on designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend services, APIs, databases, integrations, and server-side applications.

You will work closely with frontend developers, mobile developers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and project managers to deliver complete software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Design and implement backend architecture based on project requirements.
• Develop secure authentication and authorization systems.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Design database schemas, queries, relationships, and indexes.
• Optimize database queries and backend application performance.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
• Implement payment gateways, notification services, authentication providers, and other integrations.
• Develop background jobs, queues, scheduled tasks, and automated processes.
• Implement proper error handling, validation, logging, and monitoring.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Debug and resolve backend issues and production problems.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to define API requirements.
• Work with QA teams to identify and resolve defects.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Use Git/GitHub/GitLab for version control.
• Support application deployments and production releases with DevOps teams.
• Maintain technical documentation for APIs, databases, and backend systems.
• Continuously improve application security, reliability, scalability, and performance.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in backend or server-side application development.
• Strong programming experience with at least one backend technology such as:
• Node.js
• PHP / Laravel
• Python
• Java

• Strong understanding of REST API development.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is an advantage.
• Understanding of authentication methods such as JWT, OAuth, and API keys.
• Experience with Git and version-control workflows.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Good knowledge of application security principles.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
