Job summary

Avanza Solutions is seeking a skilled Java backend engineer to design, develop and test scalable microservices in a Dubai-based environment.

You will translate business requirements with BAs, implement robust APIs using Java, Spring Boot, REST and JSON, and drive CI/CD and DevOps practices. A strong foundation in design patterns and OOP is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java (1.8+), JUnit, Spring Boot, REST and JSON.
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented analysis, design patterns and Java coding principles.
• Hands‑on with microservices, Docker and cloud orchestration frameworks.
• Experience publishing APIs, CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical design in collaboration with BAs.
• Develop and test Java backend services and REST APIs.
• Publish APIs, maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Evaluate alternate technologies and approaches to solve problems.
• Leverage template engines such as Freemarket when applicable.

Job description

• Ability to collaborate with business analysts to translate business into technical requirements
• Proficiency in Java (1.8 or later), JUnit, Spring Boot, REST, JSON
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, software design patterns and java coding principles
• Spring core, spring boot, spring data and spring cloud (nice to have)
• Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases: (Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB)
• Self-driven and able to understand requirements, complete the design and development as well as unit tests
• Hands-on experience with microservices, Docker, containers and cloud orchestration frameworks
• Well versed with publishing API, CI/CD and DevOps
• Candidate should be able to initiate and explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
• Preferred experience with template engines e.g., freemarket.
