Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
808labs in Dubai and Riyadh is seeking an experienced backend engineer to own the hard parts of its multi-merchant checkout. You will connect to commerce providers, handle payments, refunds, and ensure order state reliability under real traffic.
You will work with the CTO on Getti/Ignite integrations across the GCC, writing production-grade Python/FastAPI code and collaborating with a small remote team.
808labs is a product studio in Riyadh and Dubai that builds and backs software companies for the Gulf. It operates through two arms. 808 Originals builds 808labs' own products in-house, and 808 Ventures partners with independent builders to launch theirs.
The first 808 Originals product is Getti, a universal checkout app launching first in the UAE. Ignite is 808labs' multi-merchant checkout infrastructure: it lets apps and AI agents place orders with several online stores in a single cart, while the shopper stays in control of payment. Ignite is the platform Getti and other clients will run on.
Ignite needs an engineer who can own the hard parts of multi-merchant checkout: connecting to commerce providers, authorising and capturing payments, handling refunds and partial failures, and keeping webhooks and order state reliable under real traffic. Getti's current checkout depends on a third‑party provider; Ignite will become the routing and connection layer behind that experience.
This role exists because those integrations do not yet have a dedicated owner beside the CTO. The first interview pipeline is already moving for a candidate with backend, webhook and WhatsApp AI agent experience; this page defines the bar for that hire and any later candidates.
