Job summary

RAKBANK is seeking an Associate Vice President for Risk Analytics (UAE National) to oversee the end-to-end model lifecycle in a UAE-based, on-site capacity. The role ensures governance, compliance with regulatory standards, and robust reporting on model performance and risk.

The incumbent will coordinate with model owners, validation teams, risk management, finance, compliance, internal audit, and regulators, leading Model Oversight Committee activities and overseeing the bank’s model inventory.

Qualifications

• Experience in overseeing model governance and risk management within a financial institution.
• Familiarity with CBUAE model management standards, Basel, SR 11-7.
• Strong documentation, validation, and records management.
• Ability to coordinate with auditors, regulators, and governance committees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end model lifecycle: development, validation, implementation, monitoring.
• Ensure complete documentation: development documents, validation reports, implementation records.
• Comply with CBUAE model management standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain governance controls and secure necessary approvals before production deployment.
• Monitor model performance and close validation findings timely.
• Manage the bank’s model inventory for accuracy and completeness.
• Assess and report model risk in line with risk appetite.
• Provide senior management clear reporting on performance, risks, and concerns.
• Collaborate with model owners, risk management, finance, compliance, internal audit, regulators.
• Lead Model Oversight Committee meetings, set agendas, coordinate stakeholders, document decisions.
• Monitor regulatory developments to improve governance policies and procedures.
