One of our clients is seeking a highly experienced Aviation Manager to lead and oversee end-to-end aviation operations. This strategic position is responsible for ensuring seamless coordination of flight operations, safety management, maintenance oversight, and overall operational excellence across multiple sites supporting the company’s mining activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Aviation Manager overseeing operations across multiple sites, managing all aviation activities with direct oversight of operational, safety, maintenance, and financial functions.
- Act as the primary liaison and report directly to the company’s aviation oversight authority.
- Review and validate monthly reports covering Operations, Safety, Maintenance, and Finance to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct quarterly internal audits using key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and enhance aviation performance.
- Oversee the implementation and continual improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS) and lead incident or accident investigations.
- Audit scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to ensure aircraft availability consistently exceeds 98%.
- Monitor operational performance, including flight schedule reliability, crew readiness, and training compliance.
- Prepare and present quarterly performance and KPI reports to senior leadership, highlighting trends and improvement areas.
- Deliver an annual aviation oversight summary, including fleet analysis, safety performance, and budget recommendations.
- Participate in corporate planning sessions to contribute to the company’s long-term aviation strategy.
- Remain available for ad-hoc travel to remote or secondary operational sites as required.
Skills
- A solid background in aviation auditing, maintenance oversight, and operations management.
- Experience and knowledgeable in Dash 8 fleets.
- Strong technical knowledge combined with strategic and analytical capabilities.
- Experience managing or interfacing with charter or corporate aviation operations is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to align aviation functions with broader corporate goals in challenging or remote environments.
