Job summary

The Lana - Dorchester Collection in Dubai is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician to set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV, protection, lighting and conferencing equipment for events and meetings.

You will oversee AV setups in banquet and meeting rooms, ensure full operational status, perform repairs on electronic systems, and maintain safety and SOP compliance while supporting the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating AV/Protection/Lighting and conferencing equipment.
• Ability to set up AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms.
• Proactive maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV/Protection/Lighting/conferencing equipment for events and meetings.
• Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms.
• Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational and coordinate with engineering for smooth operation.
• Carry out repair and maintenance of electronic systems such as TVs, intercoms, projection, and related devices.
• Maintain safety and follow SOPs/LSOP while supporting the team.

• You will be responsible to set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV/Protection/Lighting/ conferencing equipment, devices, and systems.
• Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms.
• Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational.
• Will carry out the repair and maintenance of all electronic systems and equipment such as TV systems, In-House movie system, In-House music system, Intercom system, two-way radio system, AV, projection etc.
• Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Follow AV equipment preventive maintenance checklist to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• You’ll also maintain engineering area, clean and in an orderly manner.
• Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation.
• Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager.
• You will comply with the departmental/corporate SOP & LSOP.
• Will ensure implementation of Dorchester Collection Policies, Standards and Procedures in relation to Engineering fairly and consistently.
• Will be aware of all existing departmental job safety analysis and strive to work in an accident‑free manner and to create a safe working environment for self and for others.
