Job summary

Centena Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks a hands-on Marine Automation Engineer to install, test, commission, and service engine automation and alarm monitoring systems on vessels, offshore units, and shipyards.

You will work with PLC/SCADA systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider), read engineering drawings, install switchboards, calibrate tank gauging, and collaborate with shipboard teams to ensure maritime standards compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in marine automation and electrical.
  • Strong experience with engine automation systems and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of main/emergency switchboard installation and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in tank gauging systems (radar, pressure-based, capacitance-based).
  • Hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels, offshore units, and shipyards as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and servicing of marine engine automation systems and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Handle the installation and integration of main switchboards and emergency switchboards onboard vessels.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain tank gauging systems for fuel, ballast, and cargo applications.
  • Diagnose and repair PLC and SCADA-based automation systems used in marine environments.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with shipboard engineers and technical teams to ensure proper functionality of systems and compliance with maritime standards.
