Job Summary:

The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that all automotive parts, components, and finished vehicles meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. The Quality Controller is responsible for conducting inspections, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations throughout the production process.

Area of Responsibility
  • Automotive Parts Inspection: Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and final assemblies for defects or deviations from technical specifications.

  • Production Line Monitoring: Monitor automotive assembly processes to verify adherence to quality procedures and manufacturing standards.

  • Defect Detection & Reporting: Identify non-conformities in parts or processes, document issues, and escalate findings to relevant teams for corrective actions.

  • Technical Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate inspection logs, test reports, and quality records for audits and traceability.

  • Coordination with Production Teams Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and assembly line staff to resolve quality issues and improve process efficiency.

  • Tool & Gauge Verification: Use and verify measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and torque wrenches to assess product conformity.

  • Compliance with Industry Standards: Ensure all quality control activities comply with automotive standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and relevant safety regulations.

  • Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute to root cause analysis, quality audits, and implementation of process improvements to reduce defects and waste.

To be a successful Quality Controller, you should have a strong eye for detail, a solid understanding of automotive quality standards, and the ability to inspect and report on vehicle repairs with precision. A proactive mindset, technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively are key to succeeding in this role.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • High school diploma or a technical diploma in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Quality Control

  • 2 years of experience in quality inspection within the automotive industry

  • Certification in quality assurance or inspection (e.g., CQI, Six Sigma) is an advantage

  • Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and torque testers

  • Basic knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and vehicle part specifications

  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and reporting procedures

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication, collaboration, and adaptability in a team environment

  • A results-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
