Job description
AUT Data Interpreter

We are looking for a AUT Data Interpreter for one of our clients with the following details:

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (On site)

Qualification and Experience required:
  • 15-20 years of experience
  • Software Knowledge: IVMS Software
  • Should have experience in pipeline projects.
  • NDT Level III in PT, RT, UT, MT and PAUT and TOFD.
  • ISO 9712 Level II in AUT Data Interpreter validated.
Activities:
  • Led Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) activities, covering procedure qualification, operator approval, and AUT data interpretation for 48" onshore pipelines (20.8 mm & 24.5 mm wall thickness), ensuring compliance with project, client, and international standards for the project.
  • Witnessed and validated PAUT and ToFD demonstrations to qualify inspection procedures and certify operators for critical piping and pipeline welds.
  • Reviewed and approved NDT Vendor Documentation (VDR), verifying conformance with International Codes/Standards, client specifications, and Shell DEP requirements.
  • Assessed technical specifications, drawings, certifications, and vendor submissions to ensure full alignment with project requirements and industry regulations.
  • Supported procurement by providing technical evaluations of bidding documents.
  • Reviewed, approved, and validated contractor NDT and welding procedures; conducted qualification of NDT operators to maintain inspection integrity and quality assurance.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and validate AUT (Automated Ultrasonic Testing) data in accordance with project codes, standards, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure AUT data reporting is accurate, complete, and aligned with project specifications and client requirements.
  • Support review of NDT-related engineering deliverables, including Material Requisitions, Datasheets, and technical documents.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving vendor NDT procedures related to AUT, PAUT, TOFD, and other ultrasonic techniques.
  • Verify NDT execution and data quality during construction phases to ensure compliance with project HSSE, Quality, and Schedule requirements.
  • Provide technical input and guidance to site teams, subcontractors, and inspectors regarding AUT data interpretation and defect characterization.
  • Participate in source inspections and field audits as required.
  • Maintain proper documentation, traceability, and data records in accordance with the Project Quality Plan, ITPs, and Method Statements.
