Highland AE is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join its professional services team in Barsha Heights, Dubai. You will execute end-to-end audit engagements for UK-based clients, perform risk assessments, and collaborate with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality financial reporting.

The ideal candidate holds CA/ACCA or equivalent, with prior audit fieldwork experience, preferably from a Big 4 firm. Strong English proficiency required for client communication and documentation.

• Fully CA/ACCA qualified or equivalent professional accounting designation.
• Prior audit fieldwork experience, Big 4 background highly preferred.
• Knowledge of statutory audit procedures, risk assessment, and audit working papers.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and execution of audit assignments across client accounts.
• Perform audit procedures to verify compliance with IFRS/UK accounting standards.
• Review documentation, address review notes, and complete fieldwork within client timelines.
• Analyze financial records to identify and resolve audit risks or discrepancies.

This role focuses on executing end-to-end audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of UK-based clients, performing detailed risk assessments, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and collaborating with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality financial reporting solutions.

Main Duties

• Participate in the planning, execution, and final delivery of audit assignments across assigned client accounts.


• Perform rigorous audit procedures on financial statements to verify compliance with international and UK accounting standards.


• Review audit documentation, address manager review notes, and complete fieldwork within established client timelines.


• Analyze complex financial records to identify, document, and resolve potential audit risks or discrepancies.


• Maintain ongoing, professional communication with client finance teams and internal engagement managers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Education & Credentials: Fully CA / ACCA qualified (or holding an equivalent professional accounting designation).


• Professional Background: Prior audit fieldwork experience, with a distinct preference given to candidates holding Big 4 accounting firm backgrounds.


• Domain Mastery: In-depth grasp of statutory audit procedures, risk assessment methodologies, financial statement analysis, and formal audit working paper preparation.


• Core Aptitudes: Advanced analytical traits, precise attention to detail, and professional fluency in written and spoken English.
