Job Purpose
The Department of Health Care Management at the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor, with an expected start date of August 2027.
The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Public Health, with a concentration in Health Care Management, Health Policy, Health Economics, Health Services Research, or a closely related field, and demonstrate a strong record of teaching and scholarly achievement. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, student supervision, and departmental and university activities.
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in public health and health care management, with expertise in areas such as health economics and finance, healthcare quality, biostatistics, and epidemiology.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in graduation projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, and support for student development.
- Design and implement appropriate methods for assessing student learning.
- Conduct high-quality research and contribute to scholarly activities, with preference for research in healthcare quality, health economics and finance, health services research, biostatistics, or epidemiology.
- Contribute to curriculum development, program review, and academic accreditation activities.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and other academic assignments.
- Contribute to community service and professional activities.
- S upport departmental initiatives and activities that enhance student engagement and professional development.
Required Skills

- Strong computer skills, including experience with statistical analysis software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills that support effective interaction with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Evidence of sustained scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications, research grants, conference participation, and other professional contributions.
- Experience with online and technology-enhanced teaching at the university level is desirable.
Qualifications and Experience
- Ph.D. in Public Health, with a concentration in Health Care Management, Health Policy, Health Economics, Health Services Research, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in public health and health care management, particularly in health economics and finance, healthcare quality, biostatistics, epidemiology, leadership, health policy, health promotion, or health informatics.
- Teaching experience in biostatistics and epidemiology is highly desirable.
- A minimum of five years of university-level teaching experience is preferred.
- Evidence of scholarly achievement through publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and participation in conferences, seminars, or other academic forums.
- Experience in curriculum development and academic program accreditation is preferred.
- Administrative or academic leadership experience is an advantage.
