Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an Associate/Principal Electrical Design Engineer for Data Centres & Mission Critical to lead multidisciplinary design, advisory, and delivery of mission-critical data centre projects across the region.

You will oversee client engagement, project strategy, technical excellence, and team leadership, ensuring data centre solutions meet global standards for resilience, sustainability, and scalability. GCC market experience and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• 12+ years of mission-critical data centre design/delivery experience.
• Strong knowledge of Tier standards, NFPA, ASHRAE, Uptime Institute guidelines.
• Experience in GCC markets (UAE/KSA).
• Proven leadership and client-facing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration, and delivery of electrical and MEP systems for mission-critical data centres.
• Provide technical governance by reviewing deliverables to meet standards.
• Lead development of modular, cloud, colocation, and hyperscale data centre solutions.
• Act as the primary client interface, building trusted advisory relationships across key accounts in the region.
• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and senior stakeholder presentations.
• Own project strategy from concept to execution.
• Drive business development including bid leadership, proposal strategy, and commercial positioning.
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities in digital infrastructure, hyperscale, and cloud ecosystems.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to expand the mission-critical/data centre service offering.
• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, civil, and architecture.
• Oversee resource planning, utilization, and capability development within the data centre practice.
• Ensure all solutions meet benchmarks for resilience, sustainability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
