Job summary

A leading financial institution in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Associate Operations Manager to manage operational controls and Islamic finance products. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of banking experience, strong leadership skills, and a degree in Banking and Accounting. Responsibilities include overseeing transaction accuracy, compliance with Sharia guidelines, and contributing to departmental budgeting.

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of Banking experience in Finance origination and after sales service including Syndication and Agency operations.
  • Previous management experience required.

Associate Operations Manager - WFO

Location

Role Purpose

Maintain tight and high quality Operational and Administrative controls

Key Accountabilities of the role
  • Manage a centralized portfolio of Islamic financing and Sharia-compliant products ensuring operational accuracy and compliance.
  • Scrutinize / Manage facility transaction documents to ensure alignment with sanction terms Sharia guidelines and ADIBs financing policies before disbursement.
  • Ensure accurate profit calculations and proper execution of transaction documents in accordance with internal policies and Sharia principles.
  • Authorize SWIFT messages for local and foreign currency payments and outward remittances ensuring timely and secure fund transfers.
  • Address daily operational matters with branches and internal units ensuring smooth transaction flow and issue resolution.
  • Ensure quarterly Quality Testing and timely RCSA submission to ORCA maintaining strong internal controls and compliance standards.
  • Review product workflows periodically and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and support automation initiatives.
  • Assist in distributing tasks among staff support international branches and ensure leave planning is done without impacting business continuity.
  • Support departmental budgeting activities and contribute to employee performance appraisals and development planning.
  • Report significant deviations to the Department Head and follow up with business units on transactional discrepancies.
  • Promote awareness of Business Continuity Plan (BCP) provisions and collaborate with the BCP Coordinator to ensure team preparedness and operational resilience.
  • Familiar with Syndication and Agency operation. Experience in Syndication and mega deals together with complex structured product process till e2e.
  • Ensure enhancement and maintenance of internal controls to reduce/Control and to improve the operation standards.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient work performance of assigned employees including carrying out performance evaluation process.
  • Streamlining of Wealth Management product e2e operatoin.
